POSTURAL REHABILITATION, LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
POSTURAL REHABILITATION
The purpose of postural rehabilitation is to re-educate the body to maintain a more ergonomic, healthier posture that exposes it to fewer risk factors for the musculoskeletal system. Postural Gymnastics addresses all dysmorphisms of the musculoskeletal system, such as scoliosis, hyperkyphosis, hyperlordosis, valgus knee, varus knee, flat feet, high arches, as well as painful conditions like back pain, low back pain, neck pain, metatarsalgia, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, cervicobrachialgia. Among the most treated subjects with this approach are adolescents with scoliosis problems (spinal dysmorphisms), but it should be noted that postural gymnastics is suitable for almost everyone and contraindicated for a few.
LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
Manual lymphatic drainage is used in all cases where there is a slowing of lymphatic and venous circulation due to various causes. In practice, there is an indication whenever there is edema manifested by localized swelling and feelings of tension, heaviness, and discomfort. The purpose of manual lymphatic drainage is to encourage excess lymph fluid to move away from the swollen area so that it can be effectively reabsorbed. This is possible if the vessels are intact. If the vessels are damaged or malfunctioning, manual lymphatic drainage helps to “move” the fluids to other functioning areas to promote their reabsorption
